party time!

the birthday kids.

My niece and nephew have birthdays within a few days of each other.  My sister had a little party for them.  Nothing my kids like better than a party, especially if they get to play with their cousins.  I just had to post these pictures because it is one of the funniest things I've seen in a while.  My sister had them play this game: two teams, two pair of Uncle Carsons pants, and bags of balloons.  The goal is to see which team can stuff more balloons in the pants in 1 minute.  Just plain hillarious to see these little kids with MASSIVE behinds and legs.  It was a hoot just watching them try to run while 'full' of balloons.  Thanks to my sis for some great fun!

The four of us in April of 1998
The four of us lived together during my last year at NAU, 1997-1998.  We lived at 2-203 University Square Apts.  Great times were had in that apt. We were able to get together one Saturday and had lunch at Cracker Barrel off the I-10 outside of Tucson.  It was great to see everyone and to tell so many stories and remember some of the crazy fun we had.  I think this is something we will have to do every year.  Love these girls! Thanks to Lindsay for getting the whole thing started and getting us together!

Jacob's day with the Mariners

Jacob was among the chosen few 6th graders from Burke invited to the Mariners vs. Rockies spring training game.  They were able to meet the players, get autographs, tour the clubhouse and weight room, and watch the game, all thanks to a parent of some Burke students who works with the Mariners. Jacob was super excited and couldn't wait for the day to arrive.  It was a Monday, April 2.  At Burke, the kids are given Burke Bucks for good behavior, getting work done, and helping others basically incentive to .  Jacob was able to purchase a bat signed by the Mariner players with the Burke Bucks he earned.  He was able to take the bat with him that day and find and meet some players who signed his bat.  He had an extremely fun day.  What a great experience for him.
