Girls Camp July 2018. Spent in St. George Utah!

Our yearly girls camp at Camp Lomia was cancelled due to the forests being closed down for fire danger.  The stake gave girls camp to each ward.  My camp director, Gaylene, has a brother in St. George.  He generously agreed to let us stay at his home for our time up there.  The first day we toured Jacob Hamblin's pioneer home  and Brigham Young's winter home.  Very neat tours and nicely preserved buildings.  The next day we went to do baptisms at the St. George Temple.  What an experience to be there with all the Young Women.  After baptisms, we went to a Lake nearby and went boating and tubing.  I can't even explain what fun we had.  Two boats, and cool water and tubes.  The next day we woke up early, drove to Zion National Park and hiked the Narrows.  We rented hiking boots for all the girls, hiked about 7 miles total up a river.  We were in and out of the river and the walls of the canyon were straight up...it is a very narrow slot canyon.  Such an incredible adventure.  We woke the next morning and drove back to Mesa.  I love working with the youth. I was called to be the Young Women's President back in November.  No place I'd rather be than with the youth.
